In a remarkable stride towards a brighter future, Ladles of Love recently welcomed over 1,000 more children to its life-changing feeding programme, as part of its heartfelt mission to rewrite the destinies of little ones.

Cape Town, South Africa (28 August 2025) – All a little child should be is happy and healthy. This is at the heart of the Ladles of Love’s Nourish Our Children programme. A programme which manifests as hope in action, ensuring that preschoolers from some of the most underserved communities get healthy daily meals to support their growth and education.

They’ve carried out this mission for years and recently welcomed 1,000 more precious little souls into this life-changing programme. That’s 1,000 more little tummies filled. 1,000 more futures fuelled with hope, dignity, and nutrition!

“Our Nourish Our Children programme onboarded 20 new centres across two cities – bringing hope and nourishment to 1,024 children who will now receive two nutritious meals a day,” Ladles of Love shared.

Yolanda Jones, who leads the programme, shared:

“This is more than food. This is education advanced through nutrition, because a nourished child can thrive without barriers. We are not just changing circumstances – we are rewriting destinies.”

Children deserve a good start in life, and it all starts with eating right. It is this very reason that the organisation works tirelessly to provide nutritious food to thousands of small children and their teachers across the Western Cape, Northern Cape and Gauteng.

The goal for 2025 has been to sustain this and grow the programme to nourish 10,000 children. And while they are making great strides, there are still many more children waiting. Waiting for a meal. Waiting for the chance to grow and thrive.

“With your help, we can reach them. Help us nourish their bodies, fuel their minds, and light the way to a brighter tomorrow.”

Ladles of Love thanks every donor, volunteer and supporter who is part of this movement.

“Your kindness is breaking cycles of hunger and planting seeds of promise for generations to come.”
