The ABH Home is inviting South Africans to open their hearts, tune in for a cause that truly matters and be a light for the elderly this Diwali.
Durban, South Africa (16 October 2025) – Diwali – the festival of lights, good and giving – is around the corner, and this Friday, the Aryan Benevolent Home (ABH) will be taking over the Hindvani airwaves in a radiothon that aims to raise vital funds.
These funds will support the care, dignity, and well-being of the hundreds of elderly, frail, and vulnerable residents who call ABH home.
The annual ABH Radiothon, taking place on Friday, 17 October, in partnership with community radio station Hindvani and ABH, is inviting South Africans to open their hearts and tune in for a cause that truly matters.
For over 103 years, the ABH has been a sanctuary for South Africa’s most vulnerable, providing shelter, medical care, meals, and unconditional love to the aged, the abandoned, and the forgotten. But as economic pressures rise, the need for community support has never been greater.
“Diwali is a time for light, giving, and gratitude,” says Amraj Dursan PR and Marketing Head of ABH.
“For our residents, many of whom have no families left, this Radiothon is more than just a fundraiser — it’s a reminder that they are not alone, that their Diwali still matters.”
The 2025 Radiothon promises a day filled with music, stories, and inspiration, featuring spiritual leaders, community heroes, and celebrity guests who will share messages of compassion and hope.
“We’re inviting every South African to give generously — not out of obligation, but from the heart,” adds Ray Naguran ABH CEO.
“A single act of kindness can bring light to someone’s entire year.”
How to Get Involved
Tune in to Radio Hindvani on 17 October 2025 for the live ABH Radiothon and be part of the movement to bring Diwali light to those who need it most.
Donations can be made online on the ABH website or via EFT. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.
