Dad’s Kfm Radio Call Ignites Wave of Generosity, Gets Rugby Star Son to Germany!

Danie, a devoted father, took a chance, calling into a local radio quiz show with a simple hope: to win enough prize money to send his son on a life-changing rugby tour to Germany. What South Africans did during that call will melt your heart!

Danie recently called into the Kfm 94.5 Morning’s Pop Quiz Show and soon found himself sharing the real reason behind why he wanted to participate.

The supportive dad, who initially won R1,800, shared that he was doing it all to send his son, Marcel, to Germany for an international rugby club tournament that cost a total of R36,000.

Although the family had managed to raise a significant amount of R19,000 through raffles, bake sales, and donations from local businesses, there was still about R17,000 more to raise.

Moved by Danie’s commitment to help his son realise his rugby dreams, the Kfm Mornings show team generously contributed R5,000 towards the tour expenses!

Danie was no doubt overcome with gratitude, but that set in motion a heartwarming outpour of generosity from many more South Africans listening to the show who pledged additional contributions towards Danie’s son’s tour!

The fateful moment was enough to give just about anyone goosebumps!

In a matter of minutes, from just one call that landed on the right ears, the remaining R17,000 needed for Marcel’s tour was raised, a wave of kindness washing over Danie and his family!
