Petition

Durban residents are feeling overlooked once again as their Ed Sheeran dreams are crushed. They have started a petition to be included in the Divide Tour

Jason Liebenberg wants Big Concerts and Ed Sheeran to know that Durbanites will definitely sell out a concert too. In the past, it has been said that the warm coastal city doesn’t have the same draw as major cities like Cape Town and Johannesburg. But many feel that with Ed Sheeran, this doesn’t apply.

They feel that the show would sell out just as quickly if they had the concert at Moses Mabhida Stadium. After all, South Africa built all these incredible stadiums for the 2010 World Cup and they should be used.

Jason started a petition to show Big Concerts that they are worth the bet. They would love to be included in big tours and hope to change the company’s mind about their ability to fill stadiums.

“Durban has been left out once again, let’s create some noise in order for BIG Concerts to bring Ed Sheeran to a no doubt, sold out, Durban!” – Jason Liebenberg

If you would like to sign the petition, which will be handed over to Big Concerts, you can do so here.

People are also using hashtags on Twitter to try and grab attention, the hashtag #GetEDtoDURBZ has been started as well as #dontDIVIDEus.

We stand with Durban and feel their pain, this is an exciting concert moment for South Africa. Durbanites, if you make enough noise and get this topic trending on social media, we have no doubt that Big Concerts will listen to what you have to say.
