Thanks to eDeaf, we can all add ‘December’ to our Sign vocab!
South Africa (03 December 2025) – The December vibes are setting in strong! eDeaf, a proudly Deaf led organisation in South Africa that offers training courses and learnership programmes to empower Deaf communities, has sparked the festive spirit and shared it with the rest of us!
The organisation makes good things happen.
For almost two decades now, they’ve advocated for deaf awareness and have become one of the leading providers of deaf skills development training in SA, improving the social and economic lives of deaf communities.
In December, their message is for everyone.
“Whether you’re chilling at the beach, firing up the braai, or dancing under the stars, remember what matters most is love, kindness, togetherness, and Ubuntu. Let’s also celebrate safely: If you’re travelling, take your time on the roads — no rush, just arrive alive. If you’re staying home, look out for your neighbours, keep your space secure, and take care of one another. May your heart be light, your days be merry, and your holidays full of joy!” shares eDeaf.
The organisation has branches in Johannesburg, Centurion, Cape Town, Durban, and Mthatha. These spaces are ideal learning environments for individuals who learn in SA’s 12th official language – South African Sign Language. Qualified deaf facilitators help to set them up for the world of work.
eDeaf employs almost 70 people, 80% of whom are deaf.
Beyond their vital work in leadership and skills programmes, they are also committed to spreading awareness, education and opportunity with their online following. This month, it’s all about Dezemba vibes.
