Steyn City is celebrating its 5th year of giving back to local school children. Each festive season they facilitate charity by offering a donation platform.
Steyn City is asking residents in the North of Johannesburg to pledge a school bag to a child in Diepsloot. Diepsloot is township on the outskirts of Steyn City. Steyn City often works with the township to create upliftment. They have launched initiatives like the Steyn City skills centre and artists’ programmes, and they participate enthusiastically in Mandela Day activities.
The festive season is fast approaching and this charity event is in its 5th year. Delivering Happiness to Diepsloot is a project which aims to spread joy to thousands of primary school children. It is as easy as paying R150.00 which will gift a child a school bag filled with goodies for the new year.
This form of donation is easy for people on the go who still want to contribute but don’t have time to collect and drop items at charities. The entire process is managed by Steyn City who then shares all the heartwarming images on their website.
“Last year, our donation was bigger than ever, with the number of bags bolstered by pledges from individuals who took part in the Touch Invitational Golf Day and which were added to those already sponsored by members of the Steyn City and Fourways’ communities.”
“Preparations are now afoot for this year’s event, which takes place on Wednesday 22 November. We’re looking forward to the sight of our double-decker bus, driven by Santa Claus and accompanied by a convoy of trucks, bringing cheer to the thousands of children. We invite our residents and the community of Fourways to help Steyn City make the difference that these children so desperately need!”
