Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust took an intentional moment to recognise and appreciate the selfless individuals whose generosity of time, energy, and compassion directly empowers its vision to support and strengthen the community.
Hillcrest, South Africa (08 December 2025) – Charities are at the backbone of our society, doing invaluable work to support, inspire, and empower others. Behind these amazing causes are selfless individuals who roll up their sleeves to help, rally tirelessly, serve with heart and are often the first and last to leave – the volunteers.
On International Volunteers Day, the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust (HACT) paused to honour the incredible individuals who so generously give their time, energy, and compassion to support our work and our community.
HACT treated its volunteers to a special Volunteer Appreciation Tea, where everyone enjoyed tea, juice, and coffee alongside delicious platters, shared meaningful conversations, and took part in a joyful painting activity. Together, they created and decorated their own little huts to take home as a reminder of the homes, hope, and healing they help build every day.
“Our volunteers are more than helping hands; they are the heartbeat of Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust. Their selfless service brings comfort to our patients, strength to our programmes, and warmth to our spaces. The impact of their dedication is felt in every life touched, every smile restored, and every step toward dignity and wellness made possible,” HACT said.

HACT is committed to providing care, dignity, hope and support to all who need it. Its work is not only about responding to HIV, but it is about restoring humanity, strengthening community, and ensuring that no one walks this journey alone.
The volunteers are at the heart of carrying out every task, charity drive, project, programme and family strengthened that makes this possible.
“To our volunteers: thank you for walking this journey with us. We could not do this without you.”
