Helen Nicholson has spent the past 15 years helping people breathe through the chaos… and in this week’s “Good Things with Brent Lindeque”, she shares the tools, truths and triumphs that have made her one of South Africa’s leading voices in mindfulness and resilience.
Johannesburg, South Africa (16 April 2025) – When you meet someone who’s truly found their purpose, who doesn’t just speak about resilience but lives it, you feel it. And that’s exactly what happened on this week’s episode of Good Things with Brent Lindeque, where I had the absolute joy of chatting to Helen Nicholson.
Helen is one of those people who makes you sit up a little straighter, breathe a little deeper and maybe even reconsider your to-do list for the day.
She’s the Founder and CEO of The Networking Company, a powerhouse leadership consultancy, and has spent the last 15 years teaching over 12,000 people around the world the art of Mindful Resilience. Her best-selling book, Mindfulness: How to Stay Sane in an Insane World, isn’t just a title… it’s a lifeline in a world of chaos and calendars.
And while Helen’s CV reads like a highlight reel ( think running the New York Marathon, raising 24-year-old identical twin girls, living in the Middle East and being recognised by GIBS as one of Africa’s top female entrepreneurs), what truly struck us was her grounded energy.
She doesn’t just teach mindfulness. She embodies it.
“This season is all about stories that move us,” I said when launching the new video format of Good Things with Brent Lindeque, supported by the flame-grilled legends at Nando’s. “Stories of heart, stories of heroes, and stories that remind us why we’re proud to be South African.”
Burnout is everywhere. People are exhausted. The world feels loud, heavy and overwhelming… which is exactly why this conversation is such a good thing. We need leaders like Helen Nicholson to guide us back to ourselves.
This conversation was honest, vulnerable and filled with hope. And that’s exactly what we’re here for.
