127 thoughtfully packed dignity bags will offer a sense of comfort and care to survivors reclaiming their strength in the wake of abuse.

Johannesburg, South Africa (11 March 2026) – When a young woman flees a domestic crisis or a violent situation, she often leaves with nothing but the clothes on her back. In such circumstances, a dignity bag, filled with essential hygiene products, comfort items, and personal care basics, is far more than just a collection of supplies; it also brings comfort that her well-being matters.

Kindness Like Confetti (KLC) in Johannesburg handed over 127 of these dignity bags to The National Children & Violence Trust (NCVT).

Represented by Pretty Ndlovu and Senzo, NCVT is a nonprofit trauma centre and child protection development organisation whose mission is to reduce the effects of violence and trauma on children, women and families while ensuring that they are educated and informed about their rights to protect themselves as well as access justice where a violation has occurred.

The bags, filled with essentials like underwear and toiletries, will be distributed among the Victim Support Units (VSUs) that the NCVT manages, helping provide immediate assistance to those who need it most.

“These Dignity Bags are intended for individuals who are victims of gender-based violence (GBV), rape, and domestic violence. In many cases, it is extremely unsafe for victims to return home to collect essential items. By providing a necessity bag, we help ensure their basic daily needs are met, while also restoring dignity and offering practical support after forensic processes,” KLC said.

The bags were made possible by the generosity of donors whose continued support makes initiatives like this possible.

“Your contributions help bring comfort, care, and hope to those facing incredibly difficult circumstances,” KLC said, thanking its supporters.

Thanks to the contributions of all involved, this donation will remind 127 women that even in their most vulnerable hour, they deserve to be treated with respect, care, and compassion.
