The Lucky Lucy Foundation Cats team found themselves in a difficult situation when their vehicle became stuck in the sand. Just when it seemed like hope was lost, an exceptional stranger stepped in to lend a helping hand. After spending an hour working to free their vehicle, the team was soon able to continue its mission of attending to animals in need.

Malmesbury, South Africa (17 November 2024) – Car breakdowns – or, in this case, “stuck” vehicles – have terrible timing, often happening when help is far from reach.

Thankfully, the members of Lucky Lucy Foundation Cats were fortunate enough to have the kindest stranger stop by to give them a hand when their vehicle got stuck in the sand – a moment that showcased true human kindness in action.

“That Sunday morning was filled with humbleness and gratitude for this unknown gentleman who put everything aside to ensure we got our stuck vehicle out of the sand. He even waited for us to make sure we were safely back on the road,” Lucky Lucy said.

While they didn’t manage to get the kind man’s name amidst all the chaos, the Lucky Lucy team are incredibly grateful he stopped by to help them in their moment of need. A gesture that turned out to be an hour-long job!

Thanks to the man’s strength and selflessness, the team soon resumed their journey to find a woman who desperately needed to have her two female cats sterilised after delivering eight kittens.

While driving through the Riverlands area, the team’s hearts were touched even more as they came across the stark reality of poverty and found families who would give everything for their animals.

“They may not have many earthly possessions, but their love for their pets knows no bounds.

“To the kind gentleman who assisted us – thank you for being a wonderful example of compassion and thoughtfulness. It was an honour to meet you, and we are forever grateful for your selfless support that Sunday. Thank you for demonstrating such a great example of service,” the Lucky Lucy team thanked.
