If you enjoyed The Parlotones’ iconic “Push Me To The Floor” hit, the Ndlovu Youth Choir is about to make you fall in love with their new version that is nothing short of a stunning, goosebump-inducing African masterpiece!

Limpopo, South Africa (05 August 2025) – One of the greatest choral talents to emerge from our nation, the Ndlovu Youth Choir, has left us with all the chills and goosebumps after going viral – as they do – for their reimagined African version of The Parlotones’ indie-rock Push Me To The Floor hit song.

Slow roasted in Limpopo, a video shared on their social media shows two vocalists donned in African-inspired prints, singing the song A cappella with the most beautifully commanding voices before they are joined by more singers harmonising in isiZulu. They soon come together into frame as they belt out the popular chorus:

“Push me to the floor, don’t give up until I’m begging you for more. I’ll be thinking of the time I felt inspired.”

The magic of their unique voices and melodic contrasting tones – a Ndlovu Youth Choir signature – is where the talent truly shines through, earning the love and adoration of viewers online.

Still relishing the musical masterpiece, Good Things Guy caught up with the choir’s Artistic Director, Ralf Schmitt, who shared that the inspiration behind it was to shine a light on something a little closer to home.

“We’ve worked on quite a few international ballads, and thought it was time to shine a light on something a little closer to home. We chose Push Me To The Floor because it’s a beautiful, iconic South African ballad, and as we worked on the song, it just clicked and it felt like the perfect fit for us,” Ralf explains.

The choir has also been focusing on celebrating South African music in the build-up to its Heritage Tour, which will be taking them to towns and cities all over the country, like Mbombela, Kimberley, Potchefstroom and Bloemfontein, to name a few.

“We’ll be sharing our music with audiences who don’t often get to experience shows like this, and also getting an opportunity to work with local choirs and musicians from smaller towns.

“It’s our way of celebrating South African culture, connecting with local communities, and hopefully inspiring a few along the way, Ralf adds.

Well, we’re excited for what they have in store, and if you’re looking to be moved by the sounds of the Ndlovu Youth Choir in one of their upcoming performances, stay tuned to their Facebook page or Instagram for show details.
