Nick Hamman might be swapping SA’s best meals for baby food as he joins the dad club!

South Africa (29 September 2025) – Cape Town-born Nick Hamman, at this point, is a household name. He’s not only a popular voice on 5FM, he’s also a star amongst local foodies.

Hamman has eaten his way through Mzansi in search of flavour and it’s often proudly South African food that comes out on top. He’s searched far and wide for the top of the crop – biltong, kota, biryani, gatsby, roosterkoek, burger, bunny chow, pizza, you name it. He always finds the winners.

This time though, the headline isn’t about food. It’s about celebrating new life! Recently, Hamman shared that he and his wife, Sarah, will be welcoming their first child together.

The couple tied the knot almost three years ago in Dullstroom, in October 2023.

Sarah, a registered nurse who was born in the Eastern Cape and raised on her parent’s farm in the Free State, has often featured in Nick’s videos. She was also interviewed by Hamman on air at 5FM during COVID times, when she experienced, firsthand, the madness that the pandemic brought to hospitals and workers on the frontlines.

With their second anniversary coming up next month, news of a baby on the way marks a happy milestone for the Hammans in married life. Currently, they’re parents of two rescue dogs, Willow and Bailey.

In March 2026, the circle will get even bigger as they welcome their first bundle of joy.

“We’re going to be parents…Baby Hamman joins planet earth March 26,” writes Hamman, in a recent social media post sharing the news.
