La Colombe and Fyn have earned spots on the top 100 of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants; the official ceremony will take place in October.
South Africa (27 September 2021) – La Colombe and Fyn are two proudly South African restaurants that have received an international nod from the team at World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Leading up to the announcement of the 50, the team shared the restaurants that made the 51 to 100 list.
The annual awards were postponed last year due to the pandemic, but they have been reinstated this year. Founded in 2002, they have been hosted all across the world. The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021 awards will be hosted in the city of Antwerp in Flanders (the Flemish-speaking northern region of Belgium) on Tuesday, 5th October 2021.
Take a look at the two incredible restaurants below. Both are so deserving, and their food looks absolutely amazing too! After the year and then some our culinary industry has had, this is a great accomplishment.

“The Oscars of Food”, the @theworlds50best! With last year’s awards being postponed due to the pandemic, receiving this recognition during such a difficult time for the industry means so much. As always, we wouldn’t exist without the support of every diner who walks through our doors – and, of course, the global industry who acknowledges the work and creativity our team delivers – we appreciate you more than you could ever realise. Thank you, thank you, thank you!” – La Colombe
