She’s got the moves, she’s got the flair and now she’s got the stamp of approval from Selena Gomez… Kelly Kikx is on fire.

Western Cape, South Africa (04 May 2025) – Sometimes, 18 seconds is all it takes to go from local star to global spotlight and that’s exactly what just happened to one incredibly talented South African.

Kelly Kikx, a dancer, actress and content creator with over 1.1 million TikTok followers, has just caught the eye of Selena Gomez. Yes, that Selena Gomez!!! International pop star, actress, producer and newly engaged powerhouse, who shared Kelly’s TikTok dance video with her nearly 60 million followers.

The video in question features Kelly performing an 18-second routine to Gomez’s new song “Bluest Flame”, taken from the just-released collaborative album I Said I Love You First with renowned producer and fiancé Benny Blanco.

To say the moment was massive is an understatement.

Kelly, who has steadily built a name for herself as one of South Africa’s most vibrant and creative performers, wasn’t just reposted… she was celebrated. Gomez resharing her video is a massive “pat on the back”, proof that the South African dancer’s style and energy resonated deeply across continents. For Kelly’s fans (and pretty much every South African on social media), the moment felt like one of our own was being seen, really seen, by the world. And for creatives who dream of getting their work noticed, it’s a powerful reminder that talent, paired with authenticity and hard work, can cut through the noise.

Kelly followed up on the original video with another set to the backdrop of beautiful Cape Town.

The track itself, “Bluest Flame”, forms part of Gomez and Blanco’s fourth and second studio albums, respectively, marking a full-circle moment in their long-standing creative journey. The pair have worked together since her Revival era, with hits like “Kill Em with Kindness” and “Same Old Love”, and continued collaborating through singles like “I Can’t Get Enough” and “Single Soon”. Now engaged and creatively aligned, their new album was released on 21 March 2025… fuelled by love, music and fan anticipation.

And we love that Selena chose to share Kelly’s video. It’s a reminder that talent from our shores belongs on global stages, feeds and playlists.

So whether you’re dancing in your lounge, designing in your bedroom, or dreaming up your next big thing… keep going. Your “18-seconds-of-fame” moment might be closer than you think.
