Stelio Savante has a long and diverse acting career, including roles in television, film, and video games.

 

South Africa (16 August 2024) – South African actor Stelio Savante will star in the anticipated Amazon MGM movie Sarah’s Oil.

Based on the true story of Sarah Rector, a young African American girl who struck oil on her Oklahoma land in the early 1900s, the film chronicles her journey to becoming the first African American teenage millionaire.

The Sarah’s Oil screenplay was co-written by Cyrus Nowrasteh and Betsy Giffen Nowrasteh. Savante’s feature in the film marks another significant milestone in his career.

This is the second collaboration between Nowrasteh and Savante. Nowrasteh also wrote and directed the action thriller Infidel starring Jim Caviezel, in which Savante portrayed a Mossad agent fronting as a journalist.

South Africans are most familiar with Savante from his role in the epic drama A Million Colours, the Hawaiian adventure film Running For Grace starring opposite Matt Dillon, and Jim Caviezel, originally airing on Netflix and DSTV in South Africa, the noir drama What Remains starring opposite Anne Heche also on DSTV, and from the video game franchise Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Black Ops Mobile in which he voices the character, ‘Ajax’.

Boasting a 35-year career with over 140 projects to his name, Stelio Savante’s recent credits include the Netflix series Captain Fall and the crime thriller Fresh Kills, directed by Jennifer Esposito.

He will next be seen in the drama Between Borders, filmed in Romania, directed by Mark Freiburger and starring opposite Elizabeth Tabish (The Chosen), Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost), and Patrick Sabongui (Homeland), in the survival thriller Hazel starring opposite Laurie Fortier and Madelyn Dundon, and as the lead in the crime thriller Wrong Way Out written and directed by Nicholl Fellowships (Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences)) nominee, E.B. Hughes.
