Since posting about Mdu the talented South Beach busker, he has come back with yet another powerful performance, this time covering Ed Sheeran

South Beach, Durban – Brad Hunter saw Mdu while at the Surf Riders Food Shack earlier this week. Mdu is a busker, also known as a street performer, along the South Beach beachfront. He carries his guitar with him and sings his own songs while walking along the promenade. Brad Hunter was having dinner when he first heard Mdu sing.

He was inspired by Mdu’s talent and knew he had to be heard by the world. A talent like that should not go unnoticed so he started filming his performance.

Brad told him he would post the video on social media and come back with better sound equipment and cameras to film a proper video of Mdu’s talent. The day after he posted the original video, he went back to meet up with Mdu.

“When I told him that people love his music, and that I wanted to make more videos of him to share, he was astounded… I want to give this wonderful chap an opportunity to live his dream and make something of this gift he has.

We had lunch and spoke about life, the future and how we can get him on the path to singing to crowds, and eventually the world, “letting his music heal people,” as he said in his own words.

After our lunch, I asked him to play me his favourite cover whilst walking down the promenade, his daily route which he travels along in order to make a living, commuting from Hammersdale everyday, I could see this is his passion.”

Mdu loves performing covers by artists that play guitar and so he chose non-other than the super talented Ed Sheeran. His song ‘Perfect’ is the perfect cover for Mdu and he blows it out of the water with his talent. Watching him, you can see the star quality just sitting there waiting to be nurtured into something spectacular.

“We filmed Ed Sheeran – Perfect, which is another song Mdu performs with absolute passion – hopefully you all enjoy it and share it for the world to see”

Watch his perfect performance below. We can’t wait to hear more of Mdu’s own original music though, so stay tuned.
