Suzelle DIY dropped a banger of a Braai Pie for Heritage Day. It’s lekker to have her back!

Cape Town, South Africa (25 September 2025) – It’s been 11 years since Suzelle DIY brought her legendary braai pie to the world. It’s the golden ticket that shot her up to fame. It’s where she’s stayed for over a decade, but in recent years, when her channel fell a bit silent, a gap formed. One that only Suzelle and her BFF Marianne could fill.

Life happens, man. Our Good Things leader, Brent, caught up with Julia (Spoiler alert: she’s the brains behind Suzelle and Tali Babes) about it on his recent podcast. Becoming a parent and balancing two star personalities is no easy task. The good news, though, is that she’s back, along with her sidekick!

First, it was with a recipe for Lemon Mousse. Then with a courtyard revamp, and a billion ways to use a can of Q20. Now, she’s returned with the braai pie. A reimagining of the staple that clocked in more than 1.4 million views on YouTube when her journey first began.

Back then, it involved puff pastry, fillings, and a braai grill. This time, it’s upside down. And with boerewors.

Suzelle delivered the recipe for the ‘upside down Braai Pie of your dreams’ clad in over-the-top florals for Spring (when we say clad, we mean it – even the table was matching) along with the charm that has made her a household name in SA.

So, from Suzelle to South Africa, a Heritage Month surprise – because anybody can!
