Suzelle DIY has been on a 2025 roll, from mousse to makeovers… and now a DIY BFFE with Marianne!

South Africa (15 September 2025) – If 2025 has taught us anything so far, it’s that joy comes in many forms. Sometimes it’s a good cup of coffee, sometimes it’s a stranger’s kindness… and sometimes it’s Suzelle DIY popping up on our screens with a brand-new video.

Yes, the queen of quirky creativity is back. And she’s on a roll.

Suzelle DIY (the brainchild of South African comedian Julia Anastasopoulos) burst into our lives over a decade ago with her hilarious and heart-warming YouTube tutorials. Whether she was showing us how to make a braai pie, fix a plug, or survive a festive season, she did it all in her own delightfully eccentric way. And always with a big dash of South African flavour.

But fans had been left waiting. Her last video before the break was back in October 2023 and then silence. Until June this year, when she surprised us all with a comeback video featuring a DIY Lemon Mousse. She followed it up that very same month with a courtyard revamp, reminding us why we fell in love with her in the first place.

And now, she’s done it again! Yes, she’s back. And so is Mariaane!

Marianne is Suzelle’s deadpan bestie who became a cult favourite character in the early days of Suzelle DIY. She hasn’t been seen since 2021 and her return feels like a little reunion we didn’t know we needed.

You can watch the newest video below (because anybody can).

If you want more Suzelle (and Julia, and her other beloved alter-egos like Tali and Natalie), you can catch our recent chat on the Good Things with Brent Lindeque podcast. That episode is also available to watch below.
