After 48 hours of non-stop gameplay, strategy, and endurance, Team Silver claimed the crown at Cape Town’s inaugural Locked In event.
Cape Town, South Africa (10 March 2026) – Gaming in South Africa has been levelling up like never before and the latest Locked In event in Cape Town proves it. After 48 hours of non-stop gaming, Team Silver walked away with the ultimate prize at the inaugural Redbull Locked In event, held from 6–8 March at the Bellville Velodrome in Cape Town. A little a little ironic, the team named “Silver” ended up claiming gold.
The high-energy LAN event brought South Africa’s top gamers together for a unique twist on competitive play. Apex Legends battles were mixed with real-life challenges, knockout rounds, and multiple game modes, putting teamwork, strategy, and endurance to the ultimate test.
Team Silver, led by captain Collins “It’z Skarrra”, kept their focus under pressure and executed clever strategies that ultimately secured them the championship.

Team Silver member Julio Bianchi reflected on the experience.
“Preparation can only take you so far. After that, you have to take a few leaps of faith. What started out as fun and games quickly became a rollercoaster of emotions. I feel privileged and honoured to have been part of this one-in-a-million event.”
The event was a celebration of South Africa’s gaming community, showing the energy, dedication, and fun that players bring to the scene. And for Team Silver, turning their “silver” into gold will be a moment they won’t forget anytime soon.
