Hazel Moller and Tumelo Mokobane ran 900km’s in 2016 to raise funds for dog affiliated charities. They are inviting running clubs to join the Ten10 marathon.

In 2016 Hazel Moller and Tumelo Mokobane did the Ten marathons in 10 Days to raise money for charity. The 10 marathons consist of 90km runs each day with the 10th one being the official Comrades Marathon. In total that is 900km’s run in just 10 days. A person could earn their green number in those 10 days!

Hazel and Tumelo have decided to let running clubs join their cause to raise funds for charity. This year the money raised will go towards PETS (Pet Empowerment in Townships) and Underdogs SA. The goal is to raise 500K as well as collect dog food for the charities.

PETS strives to empower animals in townships and poor communities. They work with the community to improve the lives of these disadvantaged animals by giving them daily meals, warm shelters, regular inoculations, sterilisations and vet care in emergencies. They also rehome those ones that are unwanted, unloved or lost.

Underdogs SA is the only pit bull breed specific registered NPO of its kind in South Africa, founded in 2011. They rescue and rehabilitate, then home the pit bulls with the assistance of qualified Vet and animal behavior specialists.

Ten10 are inviting runners to join us in the initiative. All club runners may join in by running one or more of the days or doing a day with a relay team.

Send us a proposal and we will accommodate you as best we can! You get to wear full club colours and be part of the media coverage and excitement of the event.

The marathons will take place from 26 May – 4 June 2017. For more information click here.
