The Kiffness have released a new hilarious music video for Valentine’s Day called ‘Celibate Healing’.
Cape Town, South Africa – Does a Bear get hit on in the woods?
David Scott from The Kiffness is no stranger to controversy, he has had public fights with Woolworths over body shaming, taken on festivals that don’t pay and now the singer is “hitting” on a bear in the woods.
The group released their new song and music video on Valentine’s Day called ‘Celibate Healing’.
“The song basically started as an idea that I had to create a very sexy sounding R&B song & flip the narrative of the usual “guy singing about how bad he wants a girl” and rather make it about how unkeen he is. And now that I’ve explained it it’s so much less funny, lol.”
The team at Dolph thought it would be a good idea to base the video around this idea that Scott was trying to isolate himself from society & the sexual temptations that come with it, so the video setting is a place called “Camp Celibate”, where he lives a simple life free of sexual temptation.
That’s until he sees a bear with bare bum, and just seeing that is enough to set him off. Needless to say the bear isn’t too impressed with Scott grabbing it without consent & quite rightly ‘klaps’ the singer.
The video is very open ended as the team wanted to create something that allowed viewers to draw their own conclusions or value from the video and the song. Scott says that if viewers don’t get anything from it, that’s also ‘cool’.
“The funniest part of the video I reckon was trying to deal with this drunk dude in Delta Park (where we shot the video) who kept wanting to take a photo with the bear.
Eventually he got his photo but then he kept getting into the shots because he was completely fascinated by the bear and didn’t want to leave.
If you check carefully you might check the dude in one of the shots, lol.”
