It’s the song we never knew we needed… and Ryan Reynolds just gave it and the South African musician a shoutout to his 17 million followers!
Johannesburg, South Africa (02 June 2021) – Yup, Hollywood superstar Ryan Reynolds just shared The Kiffness’ newest song and South Africa could not be prouder!
The Kiffness is no stranger to South Africans and the talented artist seems to have a knack for going viral across the globe but now David Scott (The Kiffness himself) can proudly say that Ryan Reynolds might be a fan too!
What the Cat?
Three weeks ago on the 12th of May 2021, The Kiffness made a collaboration with “Alugalug Cat”. The video went viral, with over 29 million views on Facebook, 4,4 million views on TikTok, & 1,2 million views on YouTube to date.
The video was shared far & wide, reaching the front page of both 9GAG and Reddit, followed by reshares from music legends like Pete Rock, Norman Reedus and even a shoutout on Quest Love’s story.
And now even Ryan Renolds!

Just yesterday, the video reached the Hollywood legend who liked the video on Twitter and shared it on his own Fleets.
Speaking to Good Things Guy, Scott says that it feels great, but it mostly feels absurd. “I do these videos for my own enjoyment, so it feels super weird that you can make something in your home in South Africa and it has the power to make its way all the way to a Hollywood celebrity. The internet is a weird & wonderful place.”
The Kiffness released a full version of the song last Friday (28 May) on all music platforms, and it has been very well received.
