South Africa’s Grammy-winning pop star Tyla has just gifted the world a new anthem and it’s got all the ingredients for a global smash.

Global (12 July 2025) – South Africa, dust off your dancing shoes… Tyla just dropped her new track “Is It” and it’s bringing the heat, even though we’re still layered up in scarves and beanies.

The Grammy-winning superstar is proving, once again, that she’s not just riding the wave; she is the wave.

Fresh off the global success of her debut album and the monster hit “Water”, our Afropop princess is showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, she’s turning the tempo up with her brand-new single “Is It”, a dance track so contagious, it’s practically a public service announcement to get on the floor and let go.

Produced by long-time collaborator Sammy Soso, “Is It” is a sultry, pulsing celebration of movement, rhythm and that unmistakable Tyla flavour. And while the northern hemisphere basks in sunshine, the rest of us are finding joy, escape, and a whole lot of body rolls through Tyla’s hypnotic beats and jaw-dropping visuals. Because when she moves, the whole world watches. And this time, she’s dancing us straight into her next chapter.

“Every day I can be in the studio, I’m there,” she told Nylon. “I’m working on the new project currently. I’m super excited because even though I love my debut album, I feel like a totally different person. Everything that has happened forced me to grow very fast. I’m also the type of person that gets bored very easily. So I’m excited to see this new version of me and hear what it sounds like and just have fun with it — just bring back fun in music.”

That energy is exactly what “Is It” delivers. A full-on dance anthem with just the right amount of sass, groove and summer daze nostalgia. But don’t take our word for it, the internet’s already vibing.

“I honestly think this is one of her best works yet. The amount of growth in her sound over the past couple years has been insane and I really think that this song can push Tyla to the forefront!”

“Wow, Tyla owns this video! Her choreography is straight-up hypnotic, the summer vibes are real, and that style, next level! Definitely the summer anthem we needed to get moving!”

“Tyla is an icon, she is the moment 🔥❤️”

Whether you’re sipping cocktails poolside in Ibiza or shivering in a hoodie in Cape Town, “Is It” is your soundtrack for joy. It’s unapologetically South African, deliciously global and just the right amount of cool.
