Good Things Guy have teamed up with UCOOK to give away the most awesome hamper in honour of Mothers day & all you have to do is comment below why your mom deserves to win!
Mother’s Day comes around just once a year and is a great opportunity to show the mom in your life just how much you appreciate her. On the 13th of May this year, you get to spoil her for all the times she’s consoled, wiped away, picked up, kissed and hugged. Luckily, planning just got a whole lot easier with the launch of www.mothers-day.co.za – a repository for all things Mother’s Day.
Each hamper will have a UCOOK box voucher (each box has 3 meals in for 2 people), 3 bottles of Warwick First Lady Sauvignon Blanc and 3 bottles of Warwick First Lady Cabernet Sauvignon.
Co-founder Christopher Verster-Cohen from UCOOK says that relieving a parent of the day-to-day duty of food preparation is a big spoil!
“It’s a big job to find nutritious and delicious meals for your family each day of the week – so in honour of Mother’s Day – we’ve collaborated with Warwick Wines and one of SA’s top chefs on a once-in-a-lifetime box. The box will include ingredients and easy-to-follow recipes for a 3-course lunch and some Warwick wines. We couldn’t imagine a better ‘thank you’ for all the moms out there.”
UCOOK have identified chef Liam Tomlin (the creative mind behind the wildly popular Chef’s Warehouse and Thali restaurants) as their secret weapon for Mother’s Day this year. Tomlin has worked closely with UCOOK to identify popular tastes and rework recipes from his renowned tasting menus to create a spectacular 3-course lunch exclusively for the Mother’s Day box.
“I wanted to keep the dishes very simple,” said Liam “so that people can reproduce them at home.”
So what’s in the box?

Give this post a heart & comment below why your mom deserves to win & we’ll select one lucky GTG reader!
My mum does amazing things every day. She is a real-life female superhero and I honestly think there should be a character made after her 🙂 .. she juggles being a mum, a wife, a sister, a teacher and a grandmother, all the while making sure everyone she loves is happy and content. She is never afraid to sacrifice for her family, she is never afraid to go to the ends of the earth to keep her family safe. I love her for all that she is, for all that has imparted to me and for all that she has made me.
MY MUM IS NOT THE BEST COOK IN THE KITCHEN BUT OH HOW SHE LIKES TO PLEASE,SHE WILL BE SO CHUFFED THAT SHE CAN PREPARE SOMETHING DIFFRENT AND PUT A SMILE ON OUR FACES.
My older sister is my “Mom” since our parents passed away when I as very young and she has taken care of me since. I now have kids but and she is like a doting grandmother rather than an aunt. She sacrificed so much for me to give me everything in her power… she did not even marry because of taking care of me…and she is still there taking care of me and my kids and always spoiling us. I would love to win this just to give her a break from the normal cooking routine and to spoil her.
My mom had a difficult childhood which meant that she didn’t have access to many of the resources we take for granted these days, including access to education. Which is why she worked tirelessly towards giving my siblings and I all the comforts she didn’t have as a child, and it brought her a sense of achievement and joy. This is the reason I would be grateful to win this generous prize, to say thank you to my dear Mom for her perseverance, dedication and love and to make her feel special and appreciated. Thank you for the opportunity.
