The determined Grade 12 learners of Groutville have been supported with nutritious meals by the Siyasizana KwaDukuza Network as they prepare for their final examinations.

Groutville, South Africa (05 November 2024) – As they prepare to secure a bright future, over 200 matric learners from the small town of Groutville in KwaZulu-Natal have received much-needed support from the Siyasizana KwaDukuza Network as they prepare for their crucial final examinations.

Armed with their textbooks and notes, the Grade 12 learners students gather at Groutville High School for late-night study sessions, where they collectively study and revise the critical information they have learned throughout the academic year.

The network of kind volunteers provides fuel for the long study nights with an assortment of vegetables, salads, meats, and hearty stews prepared with love. They know all too well the importance of studying with a full belly and nourished mind.

According to Siyasizana KwaDukuza Network member, Vusi Khumalo, Groutville High is renowned for its exceptional academic performance, consistently achieving a remarkable pass rate of over 400 learners annually.

The school’s Class of 2023 matriculants further solidified this reputation with a staggering 98% pass rate.

The success of this initiative is largely attributed to the tireless efforts of volunteers who work long hours to ensure the programme’s smooth operation.

Special recognition goes to Principal Simphiwe Gumede and his dedicated team, as well as Mondli Ngema from eNduduzweni Community Care Centre, who plays a pivotal role in organising the night study sessions.

By providing nutritious meals and a supportive learning environment, the Siyasizana KwaDukuza Network is empowering these young minds to reach their full potential and secure a brighter future.
