Treasure hunters looking for charitable deals, the shelves at the Wagtails Charity Shop in Walmer are fully stocked thanks to donors.
Walmer, South Africa (21 July 2024) – The Animal Welfare Society Port Elizabeth (AWS PE) shared a happy update that its charity shop has been able to unpack new stock each day, thanks to the generous donations of its supporters. Located in Walmer, Gqeberha, the shop helps fund the care of animals in the area.
Charity shops are our favourite kinds of shops which is why we have a list dedicated to them and regularly feature those that are needing some extra help.
Many charities fund themselves by having a charity shop on the premises or nearby, which sells second-hand items and sometimes even new items. These little shops are treasure troves filled with hidden gems and secret finds at prices that would make your purse stay flush!
Charity shops are a great asset to society because they offer a resource to find affordable alternatives while giving back. They are a great option for people who have stepped away from fast fashion retailers and need a good source of clothing to shop for. Bookworms who cannot afford the newest books can purchase bags full from a charity shop and most importantly, it is better for the environment!
The Wagtails Charity Shop supports AWS PE, which was founded in 1971 to address the difficulty that the municipality of Port Elizabeth was experiencing in coping adequately with the number of stray animals and cruelty cases in the city.
Today, the organisation still supports community animal welfare in all manners, from vaccination and spay drives to offering shelter and rehoming animals in need.
