Every drop of blood donated is a beacon of hope, a lifeline extended to those in dire need, and you can make a difference.
Western Cape, South Africa (05 August 2024) – The Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS) is urging all South Africans to become a “mighty hero” by donating blood this August.
Each donation has the power to save up to three lives.
As a thank you for their heroic efforts, donors will have one last chance to receive a special pair of hero socks.
WCBS recently joined the global community in honouring voluntary blood donors and wrapped up its successful winter campaign.
The organisation recognises the incredible dedication of blood donors who helped save countless lives during the colder months.
“Without the support of our donors, saving lives would not be possible. We are deeply thankful to each donor who braved the winter cold to donate blood; they are the true heroes of the Western Cape,” says Marike Carli, Public Relations Manager at WCBS.
By donating blood, you’re giving the invaluable gift of life to those in need.
The WCBS appreciates every donor who has played their part in making a difference to the great need, regardless of their donation milestone. Helping to sustain a blood supply all year round makes you a mighty hero in their books and ours!
