There’s a new way to glow up your selfies, and all it takes is a photo, a bit of AI and one seriously cinematic prompt. Hello wet-look portraits!

Global (26 June 2025) – Every now and then, the internet throws us a curveball of creativity, something so wildly fun and ridiculously brilliant that we all want in. And this week, that moment belongs to a new AI trend sweeping across the globe. It’s slick, it’s striking, and it’s turning everyday profile pics into something straight out of a blockbuster movie poster portraits.

The idea is simple: Take your photo, open your preferred AI platform and drop in this very specific magic spell of a prompt:

“Focus on the face. High contrast black & white close-up of face with water drops. 35mm lens, 4K HD, black shadow background, sharp profile, 4:3 ratio.”

That’s it. No complicated downloads. No advanced Photoshop skills. Just a few words and a photo… And BOOM!!! You’ve got yourself an image that screams, “I fight crime on weekends and deliver TED Talks on Tuesdays.”

From CEOs to students, artists to accountants, people everywhere are jumping on board, posting their dramatic new looks with pride. And it’s not just for people either! Some have started uploading photos of their pets. Yes, I did it with my pups. And I am obsessed.

I didn’t stop there though. I also “actionified” Homer Simpson… and a burger. Why did I choose these things? Well, because I can. And it was fun. This is the kind of trend that reminds us of the joy technology can bring. When it’s not all about deep fakes or doomsday headlines, AI can be artful, playful and wonderfully weird.
