Macaulay Culkin took to Twitter today to remind the world it was his birthday.
Macaulay Culkin has lived most of his life in the public eye, battling his family, addiction, and puberty all while millions of people watched.
Ever since his star-making turn as adorable 8-year-old Kevin McAllister in Home Alone, Culkin’s looks and life have gotten a lot of attention over the years. As with many child actors, growing up in the spotlight hasn’t always been easy and the internet hasn’t always been kind to his fluctuating weight and appearance.
Just a few years ago, Culkin was heavily criticized for his gaunt physique and unkempt looks, with rumours swirling that he was battling a serious drug problem. He cleared the air in a Guardian interview in 2016, saying, “No, I was not pounding six grand of heroin every month or whatever.”
In 2017, he was photographed buying some smokes and the internet just about froze with the buzz of activity around the images. The previously gaunt and drug-dependent-looking Culkin had taken on quite the fuller face and body, making him a treat on the eyes for many a Home Alone fan.
He is now going viral once again, only this time because the world forgot that people age and he just turned 40! Yes, FORTY!!! Anyway, now that the shock is wearing off, we are off to go watch some Home Alone again for old-times sake.
