Mrs South Africa Nicole Capper

Mrs South Africa is currently in a stable condition after being airlifted from Mount Everest to a Kathmandu hospital.

Mrs South Africa, Nicole Capper (32), was airlifted to a hospital in Nepal after experiencing altitude sickness during an expedition on Mount Everest. Capper is currently in a stable condition at a Kathmandu hospital.

The official Mrs South Africa pageant page confirmed that Capper is in a stable condition in a Twitter post: “Latest update: @MrsSA_Official @nicolejcapper is in a stable condition after being airlifted to Kathmandu hospital from Mount Everest Base Camp. Our prayers are with her.”

Capper is married to Brian Capper and she is a mom of 2 children – Joshua (5), as well as a Tatum (1), who has a rare genetic disease. She is a Functional Medicine Pharmacist passionate about health. She is also a Model, Speaker and a Guesthouse owner.

Capper founded ‘Inside Out’ an organization that connects the youth with their heroes in sport and business, at school events. She is involved in rare disease awareness. Nicole believes that no matter what challenges one may face, every day is a gift, and life is truly beautiful.

She left the country earlier this month together with a team, to raise funds for Rare Diseases South Africa, which helps patients receive access to treatment and reached Everest Base Camp two days ago before experiencing altitude sickness.

“We DID IT!!!!!! As a team. Yesterday we completed the trek to Everest Base Camp. 5364m. It was a dream come true, and I stood there with a team of trekking warriors beside me, and a team of ‘Rare Warriors’ in my heart. Thank you for being part of this journey. And for being part of my team.

You all make me brave.

Thank you to each and every kind soul who donated towards making Rare Diseases South Africa patients’ lives better. You are phenomenal.”

The determined South African is currently safe and recovering at a Kathmandu hospital and is apparently in “good spirits”.

MOUNTAINS for me are great reminders that we all have something to climb. like my baby girl who is not doing so well today, and now needs more meds. more physio and nebulizing. every single human has a myriad of challenges and issues they must face. we all climb. today I climbed to Khumjung, at 3790m. I also climb other mountains too, like not being at home with my baby girl. but when I see these mountains i only have to look around me, and I meet these incredible travelers. trekkers. mountaineers. who have climbed them all and lived to tell their tales. so I too may believe that I can climb. Life is about sharing our battles and our victories, healing together, inspiring one another. after all, if someone has summited that beast, then surely, with passion, purpose and determination, I can do the same. #RareHeights @rarediseasessa @tammytaylornailssouthafrica @mrs_south_africa @brayfoil @goproza @thulesa @capturevideo
