From meeting Rassie Erasmus and hugging Siya Kolisi to living with cerebral palsy and chasing some seriously big dreams, Nkosi “The Rugby Guy” joins “Good Things with Brent Lindeque” for a conversation about rugby, happiness and everything beyond the game.

Johannesburg, South Africa (19 August 2026) – On this week’s poddie, I got to sit down with Nkosi “the Rugy Guy”, a young South African rugby superfan and content creator whose infectious enthusiasm has earned him a growing following online and, rather brilliantly, put him in the same room as many of the sporting heroes he once only dreamed of meeting.

Nkosi lives with cerebral palsy but spend any time following his journey and you quickly realise that this is only one part of his story. His platform is about rugby, happiness, inclusion and squeezing as much as possible out of life, while showing other people living with disabilities that their dreams deserve space too.

“Yes, I’ve got cerebral palsy, but that doesn’t stop me from doing what I love to do.”

And what Nkosi loves is rugby. Through his social media, he has shared his adventures at matches and sporting events, meeting players and coaches and celebrating South African rugby with an enthusiasm that is almost impossible not to get swept up in. Along the way, some pretty extraordinary meetings have happened. In July 2025, Nkosi met Rassie Erasmus, who presented him with a Springbok cap and jersey.

“When Rassie handed me that jersey, it felt like I’d just been called up to represent South Africa.”

There have been enormous hugs with Siya Kolisi too, and more recently Nkosi’s sporting adventures have started stretching beyond rugby. At LIV Golf South Africa in Johannesburg, he met Bryson DeChambeau and promptly gave the eventual winner a lesson in being properly South African, teaching him “Hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie” and even getting a “Howzit, boet!” out of him.

But behind all those brilliant viral videos is a young man building something meaningful. Nkosi is also filming a documentary series focused on schoolboy rugby in South Africa, while his own journey includes raising funds towards a medical procedure and travelling to Stellenbosch University for a gait-analysis assessment.

His passion for sport may have introduced South Africa to Nkosi but the person behind “The Rugby Guy” is the real story. Our conversation this week on “Good Things with Brent Lindeque” explores his life, his love for the game, the people he has met, the dreams that have already come true, and the ones he is still chasing.
