Noordhoek Gallery’s Annual Exhibition Calls on Artists to Create ‘Home’

Calling ALL artists! Now in its fifth year, Noordhoek Art Point Gallery’s annual Out the Box exhibition is back in the works.

Cape Town, South Africa (29 January 2026) – The gallery has unveiled the theme for its much-loved annual Out the Box exhibition – ‘Threads of Home’.

It’s inviting local artists to explore the often unseen connections that bind us to people, places, memories and heritage. The invisible threads that shape identity, belonging and emotional landscapes. Ultimately, what feels like ‘home’.

“Home means something different to everyone,” says Aimee Kruger, owner of Noordhoek Art Point Gallery. “It might be rooted in geography, family, culture or even a sense of longing. That emotional diversity is what makes this exhibition so special.”

The annual event invites all artists – no matter age, experience or background – to participate, create, and submit work for the exhibition.

There are only a few simple guidelines that must be followed. All artworks must measure 40 × 40 cm and works on paper must be framed within the 40 × 40 cm format. Each person is welcome to submit up to 4 artworks for the exhibition.

The deadline for artists’ to submit work is Friday 20 March 2026, with the exhibition set to run from 27 March to 28 April 2026 at Noordhoek Art Point Gallery, with the opening event taking place on Saturday 28 March.

“This exhibition has always been about participation, not perfection,” says Aimee. “Threads of Home speaks to something we all carry within us — whether it’s a place, a person, a memory or a feeling. We’re excited to see how our community interprets that idea in their own unique way.”
