Northlands Primary Boys Perform Proudly SA Haka for Their Dads!

Durban dads got the greatest haka tribute…and ja, there were braai broodtjies involved!

KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (22 June 2026) – Step aside, socks and choccies. The dads of Northlands Primary School in Durban North just received one of the best gifts in the history of Father’s Days…and it came with a war cry!

At the school’s annual Father’s Day Assembly, the boys went full haka. A proudly South African haka. Their epic version swapped out the usual fierce ancestral imagery for the four pillars every SA dad actually worships. Fire, braai broodtjies, coffee, and Ouma rusks.

The sweetest tribute to the men who burn the boerewors slightly too much and still call it a chef’s kiss.

“A Haka like no other! One of the highlights of our Father’s Day Assembly. Dads, this one is for you. Happy Father’s Day to our dads and to all those special people who fulfil the role of father for our children.” the school wrote.

A gift well-deserved by all the present dads – not forgetting the oupas, uncles, and honorary fathers who step up too.

The video landed on Facebook on Father’s Day and has already racked up more than 20,000 views and is climbing!
