Eye Second chance at life: South African opens up after surviving a severe shooting!

A South African couple joined Good Things Guy in studio to talk about a tragic incident; about healing and miracles.

Johannesburg, South Africa –  On the 23rd of November 2018, an armed gang opened fire on Lyle Houldsworth, a construction manager paying employees after a project.

Lyle was rushed to hospital after the gang opened fire where doctors treated him for heavy wounds in his throat. The prognosis was unknown, doctors hoped that he would survive but knew that he would face a long road to recovery, there was even talk that he may never speak again.

The construction manager is the primary breadwinner for his family and owns his own business. He is also a pillar of strength to many in Alberton, Johannesburg a town that the family is based in.

“One of the toughest interviews I have ever done… and only because I was holding back the tears.” – Brent Lindeque

Lyle has survived the tragic incident, but he harbours no anger. He is a miracle, and both him & Bron are ready to use this second chance at life to make a positive difference.

Five months later, and he is doing incredible… Lyle and his wife Bronwyn joined us in studio to chat about the tragic incident; about healing and miracles.

Listen to the full interview below:

Bron wrote to us afterwards to thank us for the opportunity to tell the important story.

“Thank you so much for allowing us to tell our story. I’m sitting here thinking that there was so much more I could have shared about how our life completely changed and how so many other people helped us through the ordeal.

There were so many people who just kept showing us so much kindness.

Our daughter qualified to compete in a dancing competition late last year, but the reality is that we were not able to send her after the incident and then an incredible company sponsored her to go! And then we renewed our vows in February this year and our wedding venue offered us a free weekend to celebrate the special occasion. Just so many good things.”
