Paul Warner travelled into South Africa via Morocco and was highly impressed by the protocols put in place by the government.
South Africa (12 March 2020) – Paul Warner travelled from New York to Nigeria and Morocco before landing in South Africa. He shared his thoughts on the process and safety protocols he encountered before leaving the airport.
Paul was highly impressed by the South African Government’s measures to prevent anyone with Covid-19 from mixing with the general population.
He explained that before passengers could disembark the plane, they each had to be tested by a military medical official. Once off the plane, Paul went through several more testing stations before he was able to collect his baggage.
On his flight, Paul noted that three individuals were cause for concern and swiftly dealt with without any drama or fuss.
With many South Africans not knowing the process and protocols behind the borders leading into our country, Paul’s post is incredibly reassuring. We feel confident that South Africa is being protected thanks to these methods.
On Tuesday, President Ramaphosa, accompanied by Health Minister, Dr Zweli Mkhize and Defence and Military Veterans Minister, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, conducted a walkabout at the OR Tambo International Airport. The walkabout showed the President the state of readiness at the airport in case of any arrivals from Coronavirus countries. The President was also shown a clinic at the airport were patients are treated.
