Last week Sunday, a man spotted 3 young boys surrounding a heavily pregnant dog. Filled with curiosity, the man pulled over & was extremely pleasantly surprised by the site that was in front of him!
The dog had been found by the young boys, lying against a wall in the street outside a church in Benoni. She had been lying there in pain from labour from early hours of the morning, and passers-by just walked past her. The weather was icy-cold, and these 3 brave young boys knew better, they stopped and cared for her for hours.
They made sure that no-one left the dog’s side, one of the boys fetched a blanket from home to sheild the precious girl from the cold, and they scraped their own money together to get some food for her. They bought cheese as they thought the protein would help her with the birth of her puppies.
When the man pulled over & saw what was unfolding, he quickly got in contact with the Benoni SPCA.
Within 30 minutes one of the volunteers ‘Seun’ was there to help get the dog to safety.
