An Acornhoek resident pulled a Wonder Woman moment; single-handedly protecting her home and sending three intruders running!
Acornhoek, South Africa (18 May, 2023) — As much as an Acornhoek woman saw her evening take an unexpected turn earlier this week, so did that of the intruders who got the short end of the stick.
Unexpectedly for them, they’d opted to mess with the wrong resident. Soon, she showed them that Wonder Woman lives in her house, sending them running single-handedly.
According to the South African Police Service’s Colonel Donald Mdhluli, three suspects had attempted a robbery at Timbavati Trust in Acornhoek before their plans were spoiled.
Colonel Mdhluli shared that the intruders had approached the woman who was in her home at the time, and opted to point a firearm at her.
However, she quickly one-upped the criminals, reportedly grabbing the firearm and moving it out of harm’s way with swift bravery.
Soon, the other two went to assist the disarmed intruder when they realised they’d picked the wrong fight.
According to Mdhluli, they quickly “took to their heels” and scrammed, leaving the Acornhoek Wonder Woman and her home safe.
Acornhoek police and the SAPS are currently on the case, while the heroine has been hailed as a brave example by other South Africans.
Some mentioned that her story reminds us why self-defence classes are so important for all of us, even if the unnamed heroine didn’t take classes to do what she did.
Still, as South Africans, we all owe it to ourselves to get behind self-defence, which in a wonderful irony often protects others too.
Meanwhile, not too long ago more criminals’ plans were foiled by a taxi driver in Strand, who decided to pull a Flash moment and bolted to catch the perpetrators after he was asked for help.
