The Henderson family took their passion for rhino conservation to the next level, braving the chilly waters of the Robben Island Swim to support Project Rhino’s “Let Our Children Be Heard” initiative and ultimately protect our magnificent horned wild beauties.
Cape Town, South Africa (04 February 2025) – The Henderson family braved the chilly waters of the iconic Robben Island Swim in late January, all for a worthy cause: to raise funds and awareness for Project Rhino and their Rhino Art Project.
Taking crucial action towards protecting the survival of these magnificent creatures lies at the heart of this adventurous and equally compassionate family.
Project Rhino’s: Let Our Children Be Heard initiative uses the power of art to raise conservation awareness among young people, nurturing a future generation of wildlife “ambassadors” invested in protecting rhinos and other endangered species.
The Hendersons’ swim served to highlight this important initiative and inspire others to join the fight for wildlife preservation.
“Our commitment to this cause reflects our deep appreciation for animals and our hope for a future where rhinos can thrive in the wild. We have always been a family who loves movement and exercise as well as animals and wildlife,” they shared on the Sport for Lives fundraising platform.
Despite busy lives and careers, Nadia, Robyn, and Bradley prioritised the well-being of rhinos for two weeks, swimming in blue gear and in support of the Blue Flag mental health initiative.
Together, they managed to rally support and inspire many other South Africans to join the fight for wildlife protection, successfully raising R12,150!
