Chris Bertish plans to link his adventure projects with the cornerstones of education, conservation, and sustainability through his foundation.

South Africa (05 May 2021) – In celebration of Earth Day last month, Chris Bertish announced that he’s officially launched his nonprofit, The Chris Bertish Foundation. The Foundation was developed out of Chris Bertish’s desire to inspire and be a positive change in the world through his global projects and conservation initiatives. It serves to link the adventure projects Chris undertakes with the cornerstones of education, conservation, and sustainability. While Chris has been giving back to conservation initiatives around the world since 2017, the Foundation was given 501c3 Status in 2020.

“Through the Chris Bertish Foundation, we work to inspire courage, confidence and self-belief in our youth, to help them realize their greatest potential. Our mission is to foster a more empathic generation who are invested in giving back, caring for others and the world around them.”

Chris’s next expedition, The TransPac Wing Project, will be run through the Foundation, raising money and awareness for ocean conservation, through their partnerships with Conservation International, Ocean Unite, and Sea Shepherd. Chris will have a live tracker and will be posting weekly Captains Logs and valuable Ocean temperature, PH and Cedation (noise pollution) level Data, that he’s collecting along the way. The team is also currently developing a first-ever live Ocean Classroom, to give back to education, where Chris will be putting together ocean themed classroom sessions, focused on ocean health and climate change challenges and how we can all help. Chris will be doing this as a world first from the middle of the Pacific while doing this expedition.

To celebrate the launch, The Chris Bertish Foundation has given back to partner organisations caring for People, Ocean, Education and Planet, while inspiring and empowering the youth to make a positive impact and believing in themselves and what’s possible.
