A woman, who chose to stay anonymous, gave a simple gift to a single mom in need and all she did was pick a random name off Facebook to make it happen.

In the spirit of paying it forward, one woman decided to search out two single moms and offer to pay for their kid’s school supplies. She had gathered a list of single moms through Facebook mom groups and wanted to lighten their load a little.

It was all inspired from a time when an anonymous person paid for her education after picking her name from the newspaper.

The man, which was all she knew about him, had paid for her to attend college for four full years. Meaning she was able to graduate debt free. She graduated with a bachelors degree in Science and it set her on a path that changed her life. She had grown up very poor and would probably never have completed college without this anonymous man’s help.

The woman felt it was now time to pay the deed forward and help out someone else. Being friends with many single moms, she saw the daily struggle of making ends meet. She decided this would be her cause.

Consulting her list, one woman repeatedly stood out to her and so she made contact. That single mom was Imgur user “BillietheUnicorn42” and she said, at first she was unsure and cautious about the interaction.

“She found me in a mom group, I’ve posted there for advice a few times. I didn’t know her at all. I was a bit cautious of course, I stalked her online and made sure she wasn’t an axe murderer.”

She was blown away by the generosity and when the school supplies arrived, the anonymous donor even included a pair of new shoes for her son. She was so moved by the encounter that she begged her anonymous donor to let her share the story. She promised to keep her identity a secret but she wanted to be sure that people saw how many good people there are in the world.
