GoodLuck the band has committed to making a difference by entering the Cape Town Cycle Tour and using the event to raise funds for Bridges For Music.
GoodLuck performed at the Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts this past weekend and before coming on stage, they shared a video with the audience, committing to making a change in South Africa.
We had the pleasure of being in the crowd when the video was shown and we’re completely inspired by it. The band plan to cycle in the Cape Town cycle tour to raise money for charity. The charity they will be supporting is one close to their hearts.
Bridges for Music is dedicated to uplifting the youth through music and nurturing the talent of up and coming young stars.
“We are raising money to finish the music and entrepreneurship school being built in the township of Langa, which aims to bring an alternative education to young creatives in the area and surrounding communities, as well as becoming a cultural exchange point between local and international talent.”
“The school is almost finished and this funding will help with the interior fittings, gear and computers needed to be fully operational.” – GoodLuck
The band is doing the cycle tour in the name of music, something many people will be proud to support. Bridges for Music believes that electronic music is a universal language which can be used to break down socio-economic boundaries.
“We believe the music industry has a great power to “give back” but the result will be exponentially bigger if we all pull together in the same direction. Electronic music has become the fastest growing music genre and the most accessible, now anyone can develop their talent from any random corner in the World.” – Bridges for Music
With the entire world now looking at Africa, thanks to amazing movies like Black Panther, the art and music scene in Africa is on the cusp of becoming the next big global trend.

UPDATE: since posting this story, GoodLuck has confirmed that they will be matching all donations, meaning a total of R30,000.00 could be donated to Bridges for Music.
“We have decided to match Rand for Rand whatever we raise for Bridges so if we can reach our goal of R15k we will be donating an additional R15k from the band.” – GoodLuck
