The countdown to Goodmass has begun and for the tenth day of Goodmass we’re featuring a little isiXhosa speaking South African toddler who hit 1 million views for being too damn cute.
Good Things Guy spent the year doing good things in partnership with First Choice and their #Move4Goodness campaign, from planting trees after the Knysna fires to cleaning beaches and even teaching kids about the environment… so we’ve decided to look back at the year together, and bring you all the Top stories of 2017 (with all the updates of the people who inspired us this year).
This is the 10 days of Goodmass, good news stories to uplift you, just in time for the holiday season!
For the 10th day of Goodmass, we are sharing the story of a little boy that speaks fluent isiXhosa. The adorable toddler went viral and has since hit over 1 million views on the Facebook video.
The adorable toddler was taught isiXhosa by his full-time nanny and is able to speak fluently. During the video, the pair has a full conversation to show off his skills and the little kiddo really impresses the other isiXhosa speaking ladies in the room.
The video inspired so many South Africans and people across the world. The comment section was filled with support and love.
Helene Mathee posted: “She not only taught him her language but she taught him her heart. Look at those two interacting. Amazing!”
Anuli Osinachi Ezenwa said: “I literally had tears in my eyes watching this. This is the type of Africa I want for my kids. Nobody is born being a racist. Racism is thought. Kudos to Portia and this little boy’s parents.”
Pholisa Lisa Faltein commented: “Truly racism is a sickness planted..he knows no skin colour but truly appreciates the love he gets and how he is learning. Big ups to the nanny and parents allowing cultural diversity… Big ups!! We are human before skin colour.”
Chanté Tyki Jansen posted: “I love love love this!!! Whish I was fortunate enough to have such an amazing African woman look after my son. The love she has for this boy is so clear. I love it!!!”
Margaret Macneill said: “This is so beautiful. If we (whites) could open our hearts in the same way I reckon a lot of problems could be worked out. A lovely video thanks for sharing.”
