A rugby club in Padova hosted the Springboks before their winning game against Italy. They had an Italian choir sing Nkosi Sikelel’iAfrika as a welcome.

Petrarca, a local rugby club in Padova, Italy played host to the Springboks before their game against Italy. The rugby club wanted to give South Africa a thoughtful welcome and got an Italian choir to learn Nkosi Sikelel’iAfrika.

When the Boks arrived the Italian choir started to perform their rendition of the South African National Anthem. They did a brilliant job and made the Boks really proud. They got the pronunciations spot on and they really did our diverse and beautiful anthem justice.

The guys can be seen singing along with the choir and giving thumbs up and clapping after the performance. Vittorio Munari shared the video on social media and it has since received over 5000 views.

In the end, the guys went over to take photos with the Italian choir and the choir went wild with excitement! But then again, who wouldn’t?

Thankfully the Boks beat Italy 35 – 6 and will bring the sweet victory home. After a tough break in rugby news, like losing the bid to host the RWC23, it was really heartwarming to see another nation supporting and embracing South Africa in such beautiful way.

Watch the stunning rendition below.
