Nissan and Red-Lined Motoring Adventure partner with Joey Evans in the 4th off-road race in the current series.
Johannesburg, South Africa (31 July 2018) – For Joey Evans, participating in extreme racing isn’t just a question of passion, it’s first and foremost a story of determination. The incredible South African made headlines after beating all the odds following a terrible accident and went from a paraplegic to racing and finishing the actual Dakar.
“I woke up facing the sky with paramedics and spectators standing around me. Later I was told that going into the first corner about 100m after the start another rider crashed into my swing arm and I was catapulted off the bike, landed on my head and ridden over by other riders.”
“I joked by asking everyone if I had won?.”
“My legs just dropped to the floor like two pieces of dead meat. I whispered to the paramedic, not wanting my wife to hear who was near me, that I could not feel my legs. She heard and suddenly we all realized that this was serious”
Many would have given up and focused on living life in a wheelchair. Not Joey Evans. Not only would he manage to get back on his feet and walk, but he would also keep his Dakar dream well alive and his racing career intact.
And now he’s joining Terence Marsh from red-lined motoring adventure on a 400 km cross-country race.
Nissan South Africa and Red-Lined Motoring Adventure are excited to have Joey Evans join Terence Marsh as his navigator in the upcoming Bronkhorstspruit 400 off road race on 4 August 2018. Joey and Terence will take on the race in a Red-Lined Motoring Adventure Nissan Navara.
Both adrenaline junkies join the Good Things Guy in the studio to chat about their story and their next adventure.
