The Khumalo family in KwaZulu-Natal is facing a heartbreaking struggle after the loss of their sole provider. With limited income and dwindling hope, the burdened mother and her three children are struggling without basic necessities like food, clothing, and shelter.
Mhlabuyalingana, South Africa (15 November 2024) – A family’s lives were turned upside down following the untimely loss of their father and husband. Their protector and provider who kept them anchored.
Now, they have been left to fend for themselves to try and get by in a world that has since felt very cold and unforgiving.
The heartbreaking story and the dire living conditions of the Khumalo family have been circulating online, revealing their hardships and appeals for a helping hand.
Currently residing in a dilapidated shack in Skhemelele kwaMhlabuyalingana in KwaZulu-Natal, a single mother has been struggling to make ends meet for herself and her three children.
Their home, vulnerable to the elements, sees water pour into the house, flooding the ground during rains. The children, who have old and torn uniforms often don’t have enough to eat and sustain their growing bodies.
The meagre social grant they survive on is barely enough to sustain their basic needs, and their hopes for an RDP house applied for years ago remain unfulfilled.
Appeals for clothes, food, monetary contributions or any other support are requested to help this family through what is proving to be a very difficult season. Any contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in their lives.
“The Khumalo family is asking for help with anything you can. We are asking anyone who can help to extend their hand or go there to see this family’s situation for themselves. Even R10 can make a difference,” – Thokozani Fana Khumalo humbly appeals in a post.
Thokozani can be reached via his Facebook page to help provide relief to this family’s circumstances.
