Johannesburg, South Africa (23 January 2025) – Kendra du Toit, a name synonymous with lifesaving excellence, has made her mark as a lifesaving athlete, national team member, and Velocity Trade Athlete Ambassador. All at the age of 21 – and she doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon!
Throughout 2024, Kendra continued to impress both in and out of the pool, achieving personal milestones, inspiring fellow athletes, and expanding her role in the lifesaving community.

Kendra Beyond the Pool
Kendra is also an advocate for lifesaving, working with schools, clubs, and swimming programs across Gauteng and the Western Cape to grow the sport.
She has also embraced her role within her local community, helping to create new media channels for her club to showcase their achievements and attract more participants into the sport.
“Lifesaving is about more than just competing. It’s about building a community and encouraging others to get involved, whether in the water or through education and outreach,” Kendra shares.
Looking Ahead: Studies, Sport, and Community Engagement
With her eyes set on bigger goals, 2025 promises to be another year of growth and impact for this rising star.
This year, she plans to balance her studies, sports, and community outreach. As she enters her third and final year of her Sports Science degree, Kendra plans to continue her athletic development while also engaging in workshops during her downtime.
Kendra’s other goals also include taking part in the Rescue Sports Series, the South African National Championships, and the Commonwealth Championships in Wales.
She’s excited to chase new personal records and, most importantly, continue to inspire others to discover the power and impact of lifesaving.
“To the young lifesavers out there: never stop striving for progress. Whether it’s in the pool, in the classroom, or in your community, keep learning and growing.”
With her unwavering commitment to both her sport and community, Kendra du Toit is poised for another successful year, bringing her passion for lifesaving to new heights in 2025!
