Local choreographer Rudi Smit never thought he would become an overnight sensation after uploading his video… let alone, that Meghan Trainor would actually see it!
But the grammy award winning star, has responded to the South African dance video that went viral on Tuesday and she loves it!
Rudi, a 23-year-old from Cape Town was left shocked yesterday when his video – posted online just 19 hours earlier – became a global success, raking in more than 170,000 views on his Facebook page.

The routine was crafted to Megan Trainor’s new song “Me Too” & features over 27 of South Africa’s most talented dancers from his dance group – Untimitive – that you might have not heard of before, but have to see!
According to Smit, who has been a choreographer since he was 12, the routine was conceptualised the day he heard the song for the first time a few months ago.
The video’s initial concept was based on the storyline of American teen movie Mean Girls, in which the mean girls are “schooled” by the regular girls.
“I really connected with [the song] and the video came to life the way I wanted it to. The response to the video has been overwhelming,” he said.
The video was filmed and directed by Dylan Pereira, while London-based Willem Botha edited, graded and finished it.
“We didn’t expect her to see the video, but now that she has, we want to get an even larger response and have Ellen DeGeneres see it,” he added.
