Daniel Kent-Brown’s phone was stolen with no hope of return but then an unemployed man who witnessed the robbery reported the thieves and got the phone back.

Daniel Kent-Brown was robbed of his iPhone in Johannesburg and thought he would never see it again but then he got a phone call he never expected. One of his clients had received a call from a man using his phone to say he had got it back from robbers and wanted to make sure it got back to its rightful owner.

He gave Daniel’s client his details and asked that Daniel go pick up his phone.

“The man who had my phone saw the guys who took it and reported them and got my phone from them. He charged my phone and gave me all the details as to where he is and now I have it.”

Daniel was so surprised to get his phone back but what really got him was the fact that this guy had almost nothing and still returned the phone. His saviour is currently unemployed and trying really hard to feed and care for his family. Their struggle is so bad that the family isn’t even sure they can stay in the area anymore.

“What has actually gotten me emotional is that this man is unemployed and desperately needs money for his family and his little son who stay in Tembisa with absolutely nothing yet he still chose to be honest and return it instead of pawning it or whatever.”

“Mfethu you are honestly an inspiration and make me want to be a better person and you’ve made me appreciate the moral of honesty and character. You never change or use your situation as an excuse to do bad things.”

People who saw the Facebook post started reaching out to Daniel to offer to send money to the family in need. They also started collecting toys and other items to send to Mfethu and his family. Daniel asked everyone to inbox him if they wanted to make donations and said that he would collect any times for the family.

These kinds of stories really make our hearts happy! South Africa is always better together!
