centre kindness Manager

A Pick n Pay manager had heard the news that one of his regular customers was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer so he did what he thought would help and called her.

Kaya is the manager of the Pick n Pay store in Lonehill, Johannesburg. As a manager, he really does go above and beyond to ensure his customers have a great shopping experience.

His kindness is infectious and most recently, he inspired an entire community with his random act of kindness.

Morne Vanzyl’s mother-in-law was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. The event rocked the family to its core. Without even missing a beat, Kaya decided to call the family and offer his support.

He spoke with Morne’s mother-in-law on the phone, showing his support and encouragement. If that wasn’t sweet enough, he also arranged a bunch of flowers for her, showing she wouldn’t have to struggle with this alone.

Morne shared the incredible moment on his community page, I Love Fourways. People have been in awe of the good deed. Morne feels that Kaya should get some kind of award which is why he made the touching moment, public knowledge.

“Just a thank you to Kaya the store manager at Pick and Pay Lonehill. My mom in law was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer a month ago and Kaya took time out of his day to give her a call and speak to her and has a bunch of flowers for her to make her feel special , thank you for your compassion and the way you show love to the elderly you are truly one in a million and deserve an award for your great customer care I am taken back by your kindness” – Morne Vanzyl

Our hearts feel fuller today! It is people like Kaya that continue to breed hope in South Africa. We see you Kaya and we honour your goodness!
