The team at SAINTs Animal Charity run an excellent shop that donates funds to several animal charities; they just doubled their birthday donation to CLAW.
Northriding, South Africa (21 August 2023) – Imagine it’s your birthday but you get to make a huge donation to someone else as a gift, that sounds like the best birthday gift ever! Well, the team at SAINTS Animal Charity, who are celebrating their 11th birthday, have bestowed a generous and life-changing donation onto CLAW (Community Led Animal Welfare).
SAINTS raises funds for various charities by selling second-hand and preloved (sometimes even new) goods in their charity shop. They then take all the profits and donate them to animal welfare causes.
CLAW has been a beneficiary of the shop’s for some time now and as a big birthday celebration, SAINTS doubled their donation this month.
The funds will go a long way in saving the lives of animals in the care of CLAW and through their various outreach programmes! If that isn’t enough, over the last 11 years, SAINTS has raised over R2 million for CLAW. And all through the sale of preloved items – it goes to show just how much value there is in supporting charity shops!
“Our best birthday wishes to Viv and the awesome team at SAINTs Animal Charity 🎉
In celebration of their birthday, Saints doubled the funds raised to gift CLAW an amount of R27090-00.
This support is extremely vital and helps us to continue with the veterinary care we offer to impoverished communities. We Thank our awesome followers who made this possible with purchases at Saints.
Please send any preloved household items/clothing/books to Saints and remember to nominate CLAW as the beneficiary, we would be so grateful” – CLAW
How SAINTs Saves Animals
While the acronym means “Supporting Animals In Needy Times”, anyone who knows the organisation agrees that SAINTS is run and supported by people who save, shelter and sterilise animals out of a deep love for them and their ongoing well-being at all times.
SAINTS was founded in 2008 by Vivienne Elliott and her son Jordan. They started small and hosted a book sale to help well-known animal shelter FORA to purchase food for their many shelter animals. They were able to handover over R5 000 to FORA.
They started selling donated goods and using the funds to support animal welfare organisations. It was heartwarming seeing the money raised, go directly towards the animals they loved so dearly.
SAINTS was formalised as a non-profit company (NPC) in 2012 with two co-directors; the SAINTS journey grew from book sales to clothing, ornaments and oddment sales – and much more. In 2012, the SAINTS Charity Shop was opened at North Riding Square, Bellairs Drive, Northriding.
You can check out the online charity shop here or visit them between 10 am and 3 pm at shop 19a, Northriding Square, Cnr Bellairs and Blandford Dr, North Riding.
